Two of my favorite hobbies

I love to crochet and I love to make jewelry.  This necklace combines these two hobbies.
I used this beautiful gold colored wire in place of yarn and crocheted this pattern with this wonderful assortment of colorful glass beads.
I like it!

Charm Bracelets - Better than DNA?

Maybe not better than DNA but so much cheaper than running a DNA test.  I'm not saying who this bracelet was made for, but if she ever dropped it at a crime scene it contains more than enough hints about her to find her.
These are not only fun to make but fun to shop for, I love digging through all the charms and finding the perfect ones to fit the people I love.

I have spheniscidaephobia!

That's right, I have a fear of penguins.  I blame it on the Nuns in the Catholic school I went to as a child, they would been great during the Spanish Inquisition, not so great with children. I'm also blaming my love of the rosary beads on Catholic school.  Although I'm not an overly religious person now, I still have a fascination with the rosary beads. The rosary bracelet is the minature version and I just love the look of this bracelet.  You can see all my other rosary bracelets at ShizaruDesigns.com.

Hypnotic Susceptibility??!!

I dressed up this magnifying glass and I love the new look so I snapped a picture for shizarudesigns.com.  I didn't pay much attention to the book I used in the picture, I simply grabbed one from my wonderfully intelligent husband's bookshelves. As I look at the picture now, I notice the book is about hypnosis and ones susceptibility to being hypnotized.  Now I can't help but ask myself if  my incredibly handsome husband hypnotized ME?  Is this why I can't talk about him without adding these sappy adjectives? I think we will be having a talk when he gets home!

The Victorian

A not so well kept secret is that I am half-English.  I get so caught up in the beauty of Mother Nature and my childhood in the Yucatan that I tend to forget my English heritage.

This pendant on this necklace is inspired by Jewelry of the Victorian Era.  The necklace is a collections of stone and glass beads in natural colors that accent the pink piece in the center of the pendant.

Coral Reef necklace

Summers in the Yucatan can be quite hot.  Diving off the coast not only offers relief from the heat but also some of Mother Nature's greatest creations.  The coral reefs here are vibrant with colors as well as life.  This necklace is inspired by the reds and pinks of the reefs.  I recently learned that these coral reefs are the second largest ones in the world!  My goal now is to get to Australia and dive the Great Barrier Reef (the largest in the world).  I can't imagine anything more beautiful than the Great Mayan Reefs but I would love to able to compare the two.

Have I mentioned how much I love the Seahorse.  I can watch them swim for hours at aquariums.  I remember the first time I saw one I cried, it was so beautiful I couldn't believe I was actually seeing one.
